SOAR: Regarding Progress of Decorah.
8/9/15 Update - No news is good news! Several have asked on the progress of tail feathers and how training is going. Decorah continues to be in a low-stress time in training. He has left his jesses and anklets alone (knock on wood he continues this, as many education birds take off their "jewelry"). He's eating, preening, bathing, and molting -- yes, new feathers are growing, but we haven't even taken a photo of progress. We have not seen evidence of tail feathers getting "pinched off" (where the blood supply seems to vanish and the feathers dry up and break off) right now. No stress means no stress. As soon as all feathers have grown in, training activities will resume. Kay also reports that Decorah "chitters" to her when she talks to him.
