Knitting Stick

I have never heard of a knitting stick. However this looks very interesting. Takes a few minutes to read this but I would love to have one just because. http://theknittinggenie.com/2013/07/28/sticking-it

Why do They Call Them Robes?

I have more lap robes done. Why do the call them robes, they don't cover much. They should be called lap blankets. I finally got a picture of my little hummer, he has been drinking a lot, hope he is not gonna drink and fly, hahaha. Butterflies out today. More flower pictures.

Salmon, Christmas Red, and Lap Robes

I had a baby hummer at my feeders this morning, did not get a picture though, he was so small, so cute. I got my Camp Loopy Project 2 done, not happy with it, so will rip it out and use the yarn for something else at a later time. I love the cotton yarn but it was not the right yarn for this pattern, it needs a sturdier yarn and when I washed and dried it there was a ton of lint. Camp Loopy Project 3 will be a vest with the Christmas Red yarn, it is Shepherd's Wool from stonehedge Fiber Mill, I love this wool for clothing items. The vest pattern in the picture is not the pattern I will be using. The pattern I am using is Reversible Cabled Vest. I have never made a vest and decided it was time to try my hand at one. I am working on lap robes for nursing homes. Bucky approves of the first one done. I love the colors, wish I could keep it myself.

13, Tomato, Hummingbird, Clouds

Today is my oldest cat's birthday, Hermione Grace is 13. When I got her she fit in the palm of my hand and I had to bottle feed her. She was so cute and now she has turned into a big girl. I finally got my first tomato after the raccoons ate them while they were green and about to turn. It was so good. Skinny little hummingbird up in the heat of the afternoon. Clouds were gorgeous even though we got no rain.

Trash Bags

I probably found this pattern either on facebook or pintrest but you can find it at a-ditchin-time-quilts.blogspot.com and look for tutorial for my car trash bags. The pattern and pictures are very clear. From the time I cut it out and sewed it up it took maybe an hour. What great gifts they would make. I did not use the pellon for the inside, I got a piece of plastic canvas sheeting and cut it to size and laced up one side. I figure if it gets dirty it can be cleaned as well as the bag itself can be washed. I also used poop scoop bags you can get, the little green ones they are the perfect size. This is for my car and I am sure some will get them for Christmas gifts. I already have one in mind, you can personalize them for the giftee. In the second picture you can see the handle sort of. I found some Halloween wired ribbon with black cats on them, yes it is a Halloween bag.

Moth or Hummingbird

Near as I can tell this is a Moth Hummingbird. I saw him last week on the Bee Balm but by the time I grabbed my camera he was gone. Today he was on the salvia. His wings beat so fast you can barely see them. I have two feeders up so hopefully he is getting nectar from them as well.

Decorah Eagles

This evening the 3 eagles are on the Y branch of the old nest. I know the picture is not that great but I took it with my cell off my laptop. There is a parent in the upper right corner, they are very noisy, perhaps they want a fish for dinner.

Double Rainbows and Butterflies

More of my summer flowers are blooming. We had a few drops of rain the other rain but it produced a double rainbow. Just now I found this gorgeous butterfly checking out the butterfly bush.

After the Storm

Last Thursday we had off and on storms and the sunset was just gorgeous. I have seen this cat around but not sure if it is a stray or just a neighbors, pretty cat though with such a sad face.
