D25
D25 entered the world Sunday night at 7:47pm nest time. Mom looked plumb tuckered when done and basically went into a trance for about half an hour. This year she seems to have a harder labor than last year. We have all been freaking out because the eggs are left uncovered for long periods of time like 70 minutes last night.. However, it has been 40-50 degrees warmer at night than usual for this time of year at Decorah. I know mom and dad know what they are doing but we humans worry and so we shall see how the eggs do in 35 days. So will D26 enter the world tomorrow night? Only time will tell. I have been trying to get a good picture of both eggs but the nest cup is so deep it is hard to see the eggs.
