It was a tearful weekend

So I saw Jesus Christ Superstar Thursday night, only here 2 nights, dont know why but oh well. The Theater it was in is an old elegant ornate theater and they have trashed it by replacing those red velvet seat cushioned row chairs with folding chairs with bright pink 3" foam cushions. The chairs were put in rows like sardines and you could not get comfortable at all, thanks a lot jerks.

Ted Neeley, yes THE Ted Neeley still plays Jesus. He has to be in his 60's and when he came out I thought man you have not aged well and he started singing, and his voice well it was not very powerful. Little did I know that not too long into the play he belted out the song like he was 20 again, wow he still has it. Mary was not all that great and her touches and looks at Jesus were a little freaky to me, not what I thought they should be. The person who stole the show was Judas, his voice and acting, well noone on stage could even come close, not even Ted. If you get a chance to see it do so as Judas is worth the price of the ticket. I got to meet him after the show and what a neat guy he is.

I also saw Gran Torino. This has to be one of the best Clint Eastwood's movies in my opinion. A very powerful movie but so true of what America has become and what the Senior Citizens must feel. Here is a white man in his 80's who is the only white guy left in his neighborhood, houses built in the 60's, he raised a family there, once a place where you knew everyone and helped each other out. Now he is surrounded by people from Laos along with the gangs they brought. He struggles with this the whole movie. I understand where he comes from, this is America and we have certain things we do here, and when immigrants come here and think we should conform to them, well that ain't right. This is America and English is our official language, we don't kill chickens in our backyard and we respect each other or we should. Go see the move and don't judge it til you see the whole movie.
