American Idol

How sweet was it Paula was a complete mess and everyone saw it. It is all over the radio and TV this morning. OK time to take her off the show. I laughed my back side off, it was great.

Not a Neil Diamond fan however two songs were way too much for some of them. Jason did way better than last week but I think he thinks he can just slap some crap out there and we should be ok with it cos he is cute, Jason not working anymore. I give him a D, D. David C was good and i gave him a B, A-. Brooke-does anyone else thinks she sucks more every week and why is she still on. I agree with Simon it was a nightmare, her little facial expresions and poutiness need to go, she is so Paula. I give her a D, C. David A poor kid does anyone else think he looks scared to death that no matter what Simon says it can't be as bad as his dad. What kind of parent does that, oh yea Billy Ray Cyrus and what kind of parent lets his daughter do a pose like that, Vanity Fair, billy are you so backwoods you dont know what a Vanity Fair cover is all about? Syesha, she is finally showing some personality, I give her a B, A-.

Who is going home, anyone's guess cos I never thought Carly was going home last week.

Dancing with the Stars, Def Leppard, are you kidding me, isn't that like the kiss of death? I like Def Leppard a lot but that show is not their genre. At least they voted off that whiny little witch Shannon Elizabeth or whatever her name was. And I think Kristi gagmuchi should not be on, it is apparent her skating skills give her an edge but I loved the fact that she got booted down by Jason.

God has a sense of humor

The Twilight Zone hit the caves this morning. CPR/First Aid training is going on, safety inspections are being conducted and all of a sudden the fire alarm goes off. We thought the safety inspection guys did it, but no. So we all go outside by the cars to wait cos we thought it was a fake. About 20 minutes later here comes the firetruck and the caves maintenance people. Apparently one of the air handlers in the warehouse thought it was taking in smoke so they have been disabled until someone can fix it.

I still say God did this as His joke for the day.

Big Trucks, Big Trucks, Have You Any Balls?

So now the state of Florida wants to ban those balls guys hang on the back of their trucks. I actually saw a blue set the other day and the only reason I saw it was I was behind the truck at a red light. They want to fine them $60 if they don't remove them. So are going to remove the kid peeing, the playboy girl outlines, the bumper stickers someone might find offensive, and it goes on and on.

Also today some video game comes out, the fourth version and it is so violent they tried to get a rating on it that no one under 17 can buy it.

So let's see we can't hang balls on a truck but we can sell a video game so violent children should not see it but you know they will be playing it.

And we wonder why we have so much crime in this country.

Just Say No Again

Written in response to a series of letters to the editor in the Orange County Register: Dear Editor: So many letter writers have based their arguments on how this land is made up of immigrants. Ernie Lujan for one, suggests we should tear down the Statue of Liberty because the people now in question aren't being treated the same as those who passed through Ellis Island and other ports of entry. Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people like Mr. Lujan why today's American is not willing to accept this new kind of immigrant any longer. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented. Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home. They had waved good bye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture. Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labor laws to protect them. All they had were the skills and craftsmanship they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity. Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out. My father fought along side men whose parents had come straight over from Germany, Italy, France and Japan. None of these 1st generation Americans ever gave any thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Americans fighting Hitler, Mussolini and the Emperor of Japan. They were defending the United States of America as one people. When we liberated France, no one in those villages was looking for the French-American or the German American or the Irish American. The people of France saw only Americans. And we carried one flag that represented one country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country's flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be an American. They stirred the melting pot into one red, white and blue bowl. And here we are in 2007 with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges. Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes the entitlement card and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. I'm sorry, that's not what being an American is all about. I believe that the immigrants who landed on Ellis Island in the early 1900's deserve better than that for all the toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags. And for that suggestion about taking down the Statue of Liberty, it happens to mean a lot to the citizens who are voting on the immigration bill. I wouldn't start talking about dismantling the United States just yet. (signed) Rosemary LaBonte

Just Say No!

If 200 million Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods, that's a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favor...fast!! Read further:
Are we Americans as dumb as we appear or is it that we just do not think? While the Chinese, knowingly and intentionally, export inferior products, dangerous toys and goods to be sold in American markets, the media wrings its hands and criticizes the Bush Administration for perceived errors. Yet 70% of Americans believe that the trading privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended. Well, duh..why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges? DO IT YOURSELF!!
Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says 'Made in China' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong), simply choose another product or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, however you will be equally amazed at what you can do without. Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter? If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some American farmer. Easter is just an example, the point is.. do not wait for the government to act. Just go ahead and assume control on your own. If 200 million Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods, that's a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favor...fast!! The downside? Some American businesses will feel a temporary pinch from having foreign stockpiles of inventory. ** Downside ??
The solution ? Let's give them fair warning and send our own message. We will not implement this UNTIL June 4, and we will only continue it until July 4. That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their American exports. Then they will at least have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness were worth it.
Remember, June 4 to July 4, and if it turns out interesting we can arrange to do it to a few other nations that export moral turpitude along with their goods. For goodness sakes, WWII was sixty two years ago, its time they started to pull their own loads. They know how to start wars, let them figure out how to stop them. Can you remember how great it was back in the seventies before we started to export the American dream?
Send this to everybody you know.
Show them we are Americans
and NOBODY can take us for granted.
If we can't live without cheap Chinese
goods for one month out of our lives,
WE DESERVE WHAT WE GET! Pass it on America !!!

Skittles

It is time for me to say goodbye to my young feral tom Skittles ( the all black cat above on the bottom). He lived ninety lives in his short youth. I last saw him a week ago yesterday and I am sure he went off to die somewhere. He had all the hide torn off under his chin and you could literally see inside of him. I was so busy with appointments, etc that I made up my mind to catch him the next day an dhave him put down. I never got the chance. I am sorry Skittles I did not want you to die alone. I love you and I miss you. He would follow me on the deck in the morning when I fed the birds and talk to me then he had to have his head scratched before he would eat. He was a sweet cat and I hate that he could not just let things be. I am sure the woodchuck got ahold of him. I know you are in God's care now and someday we will all be together again. I told the "girls" ( my other kitties gone before him, Garfield, Cricket, and Fritzy) to watch over you.

My one feral tom, Little BIt, who is 5 was just out re-claiming the deck once again. He is in the fuzzy picture on the top. He has lived in the cul de sac for 5 years and just meanders around not bothering anyone. He is my youngest inside cat's daddy.

So long Skittles, may you rest in peace now and I know you are not suffering anymore. I love you.

Is it Spring?

I took some pictures of the things around myyard that think it is Spring however it got up to 57 and supposed to be 35 tonight. Where is Spring and when can I turn off my heater?

My catnip, oh how lucky can my kitties get? this little bird is gray with yellow, kind of like a sparrow, there are about half a dozen of them, they flit around and sing, sure are perty.

Bring Your Brat To Work Day

What idiotic moron thought this was a good idea. It makes for one unproductive day at work. I somehow fell down and hit my head big time cos I volunteered to do this at work this year, I have no kids what was I thinking. NEVER AGAIN> Half the kids were good and the rest needed to be beat senseless, oh wait they already were senseless. There were 12 kids and had I not known who their parent was, it would not have taken long to figure out based on how they acted. I did have 4 kids thank me with one hug so all in all that does make the day turn out ok, however I really do not think this is a good idea. Next year, my door is closed all day or I take a day off.

What is going on with the voters

OK there is no way Brooke and Jason should have been safe after their performances. And Carly went home. It truly is not a singing contest this year but a fan contest. Obviously whiny Brooke gets the sympathy vote. If you can't fill an hour show don't bore us to tears trying to do so. How many different things did they do last night?

I am off to get ready I volunteered to do bring your brat to work day, we shall see how it goes, I wont do it again, too much work and I have my real work to do.

American Idol

Andrew Lloyd Weber is one strange dude but how intelligent is he, guess he can be weird. Cats and The Phantom, I can't tell you how many times I have seen them.

Syesha finally came out of her shell and showed some personality, for me it was her best performance. I did not recognize the song but I give her an A.

Jason, what rock has he been hiding under. He sang one of THE most beautiful songs and trashed it. Let's see we are down to the final six and he sang a song he never heard of before? I give him an F.

Brooke is way past her time to be there, who dressed her in her pj's. Her second do over. I give her a D.

David A sang the girl song from Phantom, of course he is safe. I give him an A-.

Carly came out of her shell but still not a wow for me. I give her a B+.

David Cook-my fav song of the evening. I figured he would do a Phantom song and he did it justice. I give him an A+.

I predict Jason, Brooke, and Carly for the bottom 3.

PLease Go Away

Are you like me and sick of everytime you turn on the TV there is Obama and Hilary on the screen, I just mute it they make me sick. He claims he is American, yea right and she is well I can't say those words my mom and aunt read this. In the paper a week ago they had great election bumper stickers and my fav is: I Can't Afford a Democrat. NObama. There is one for Chris Dodd--Chris WHO? Someone named Chuck Hagel--WHO? I find it funny that while the democrats are arguing, and being childish McCain is gaining on them just by sitting back and laughing his old ass off.

And for a chuckle in Weird News: An 81 year old Lakewood, Co man felt he was being short sheeted in his toilet paper rolls. He counted 60 rolls sheet by sheet and concluded the amount he was shorted amounted to enough paper for one sit down session per roll. He took his complaint to the Denver Post but the reporter who tried to replicated the shortage found no short sheeting. When I get to be 81 I hope I have better things to do with my time than count toilet paper sheets.

American Idol and Kool-aid

Ok no surprise Kristy Lee had gone past her time, I was hoping it was Brooke but she is almost as big a baby as Ramiele. I feel bad for Elliott Yamin and did not care for his song but his mom who was on every show and staple of the year he was on died a couple of days ago. At least she got to see her son do something he loved.

What was that crap Mariah Carey did, I muted her cos I could not stand it anymore. She is obviously full of herself. OH well Idol is almost over and I really think this show has run its course, time to put it away.

So this morning on the way to work I heard there is a new drug on the elementary playgrounds called Happy Crack: dry kool-aid and sugar. What? There are only two purposes for kool-aid, drinking it as a kid (my brother used to mix grape kool-aid and milk-majorly gross), and using it to dye yarn. Where do people come up with this stuff. Gives a whole new meaning to "Hey Kool-aid Man."

American Idol

Not a Mariah Carey fan, she is almost as spacey as Paula, and speaking of the slut puppy, she was rambling some crap that no one understood, not even Ryan.

David A in leather pants, how wrong and disturbing was that. (A)
Carly was OK, I guess I did not realize that was a Mariah Carey song, thought someone else did it (B)
Syesha just bores me to tears (B)
Brooke boy she is showing her true sucky colors the last 4 weeks, makes me smile (B-)
Kristy I thought she did pretty good, is she getting better or is everyone else getting worse (B-)
David C who knew he had a sensitive side (A)
Jason You just have to watch his face but then it distracts you from listening to him (B)

I think Carly is in danger along with Syesha and Brooke let's hope. Dial Idol has these 3 at the bottom with Syesah on the bottom but they have not been very right this year.
