I found some candy corn recipes that look good. How can they not be good, there is candy corn which is about as sugared up you can get short of a box of Peeps.

I Am Happy to Report
You know I had to name him, Three Spot, because he has 3 little red sequins starting on his throat. Remember yesterday I found the injured hummingbird. Well this morning he is back in the top of the redbud tree. I said a prayer and asked God to watch over him during the night and this morning I planned on finding someone to take him to see if he could be saved. Well as I went to go in the bathroom he was flying around the room. He landed back in the pan I kept him in had some nectar and I threw a towel over him. I carried him to the front porch, he chirped at me, like thank you, and flew off to the top of the redbud tree where they all hang out. I will keep out an eye today to make sure he is ok if I can and hope he makes his journey safely the rest of the way. Godspeed Three Spot.

This Part of Nature Sucks
I kept seeing this little hummingbird just sit on the feeder. I was so excited because I know for the most part they are gone for the season. I also saw another one and this one did not move. I knew something was not right. I went out to see and he fell off the feeder. I have him in the house feeding him waiting for the bird store to call me back. I doubt he is gonna be ok, but I have to try.

She is Back
9-29-14 ~ Upade on Decorah's Four
She's Back!! Yep, just when we thought she was on her way to bluer skies, greener pastures, and starting her next chapter, Mz. FOUR made a return trip back to Decorah. As you recall from posts below, on 9-24 she took off and was at the Iowa/ Minnesota border. She ventured a bit futher on 9-25 and 9-26, before setting a new course back for home where she was spotted by Bob on Sunday 9-28.
Bob writes, " I set off on Sunday to locate our spec...ial eagle dubbed Four. The last reading before the satellite transmitter shut off on Saturday night put her approximately 1 mile SSW of the hatchery. I was getting a pretty strong telemetry reading in the same direction late this morning. I decided to set off on foot and track her down. As I was working my way along a mostly dried creek bed I saw an adult eagle that was on the ground. A minute or so later Four appeared flying directly over my head and landed very nearby in a small willow tree on the creek bank. She had little or no fear of me as I walked almost directly under her perch. I think there is a very good chance that the adult eagle she was hanging with was one of her parents as the hatchery was nearby."

So did she disperse? Was she on a fly-about? What's going on with our special girl? Amy has a great blog that may answer a lot of your questions at http://goo.gl/HKuYW1.
Robin was also in Decorah yesterday and as much as she tried to find out where she was, who she was with, what she ate, and why she came back ... Mz. FOUR didn't answer. We'll have some photos for you tonight of their visit so be sure to check back later tonight.

Going Back To School
https://www.theloopyewe.com/sheri/2014/09/back-to-school-with-loopy-academy-and-a-giveaway
I have always loved school, I would be a professional student if someone paid my way or my bills. My niece has recently gone back to school and I am envious. I could do it but I do not have the time nor do I want to deal with the teachers like what she has to endure, truly people who should never be a teacher ever no matter what.
So I am attending the Loopy Ewe Academy which you can read about on the blog. I am entering my Fall Freshman year with a cowl, mittens, and a hat. Follow me as I post my homework which all 3 projects are due December 31. I have started the cowl in Baker University and Halloween colors. How cool is it that my university and my car (black with orange dash) have the same colors as my fav day of the year. Stay tuned.

D20 Update

9-27-14 ~Update on Decorah Juvenile Mr. Soar
We don't have a current photo for you ... (the folks at Saving Our Avian Resources are very busy with patients and ...new intakes) ... but we love this photo of Kay holding Mr. Soar for a field examination on the day he was rescued in Decorah.

Kay writes, " The Decorah juvenile eagle admitted June 2014 is still considered a patient even though paperwork has been submitted to the US Fish & Wildlife Service requesting this eagle be transferred from the rehabilitation permit to the eagle education permit. We’ve not heard back yet from USFWS. We will hear back from them when we hear back from them. This juvenile eagle is stable and continues to be a good patient… eating, bathing, preening, and climbing up a branch ladder to a perch."
At this point we don't know any more than what has been stated above, but we know he is adapting to his new life and is in the best care possible. Our thanks to Kay and all the crew at S.O.A.R for the excellent care they give to all their patients. We also thank Cynthia Hansen for the photo.

It's That Time Again
I was at work at my desk, the phone rang, I recognized the number of one of my friends who played hookey that day. I thought he was calling to rag on me that he was home and I was at work. The first words out of his mouth was go get the Manager and turn on the TV. Why I asked, because something awful has happened to us. He briefly told me what happened, so I ran to the manager's office and told him we had to turn on the TV. We went to the conference room and turned it on. I could not believe what we were watching, word began to spread because when you work for the government, well word spreads like wildfire. We all watched and waited. We were sent home for the day and the next day. Life as we knew it was over, when we came back the security was ramped up and never quit. The current administration has no idea what happened to us as a country because they perpetuate the hate that the terrorists spew on us. Evidence of the speech given last night where the first thing out of his mouth was I got Bin Laden. He is so far over his head; he doesn't have a clue nor does he care. His purpose is to destroy America not keep us safe.
My friends turned me on to Sarah Hoyt, today her post made me tear up thinking of how far down the rabbit hole we have gone under this current WH. http://accordingtohoyt.com/2014/09/11/tonight-im-mewed-up-to-my-heaviness/#comments
I keep hearing something is going to happen today or tomorrow or soon. Be safe out there and remember we are the best country in the world, when we are gone, the world is gone.

It is candy corn season. Come on you know you love the sugary candy that coats your teeth in sugar. Now it comes in various flavors which are all good. I found this website and she crochets items of clothing in candy corn colors. How cute are these?
