Hello, Look at Me
Groucho thinks you should pet her all day long and when she wants you to especially pay attention she hurls herself on the floor with her belly exposed because afterall it needs a belly rub and you have nothing better to do. She will often run ahead of me, throw herself on the floor and put her feet in the air with belly exposed and if you dont rub her belly she will follow you til you do. I think she is a dog.

Prayer Shawl
My massage therapist is going through some serious growing pains with her oldest son. I figured she could use a prayer shawl, so I went through my stash and found this yarn. It is Caron Simply Soft Brites made in 2004, the colorway is Papaya. I used the Granny Shawl pattern and crocheted it til there was only one cluster left. I used 6 skeins.

Strawberry kiwi
This weeks popsicles are Strawberry kiwi. The recipe was on TV but I modified it a bit. I cut up a pound of strawberries, 3 kiwi that were very ripe, 2 c nonfat plain yogure, 1/2 c or so of sugar and 2 t vanilla. I put it in a blender and then froze it. They are much better than last weeks and they could use a tad more sugar, but it made about enough for 14 pops. Yummy.
Congratulations to Wisconsin, you give me hope that we can take back the country from those who want to destroy it and we just might win in November and send them packing.

June Bags
I finally got my June grocery bags done. I think I cut them out last year but since they take an afternoon of sewing I never sewed them up. Well I had a 4 day weekend and decided I wanted to do a day of sewing. So here they are. I doubled the handle and made it shorter as they do carry a lot and the shorter handles make them easier to carry than the longer ones.
BTW never double the amount of cardomon the recipe calls for. The popsicles were good but all I could taste was cardomon because when I tasted them before freezing I could barely taste it. Also the mangoes need to be over ripe, they were still a little green.

Popsicles
Summer equates to a good popsicle. When I was a kid we would mix up a packet of Kool-Aid complete with the 2 cups of sugar required and pour the liquid into those Tupperware popsicle molds we all had. Good Eats! A couple of weeks ago I found a popsicle book: Perfect Pops. The 50 best popsicles, and thought I can make my own. So I bought the book and found a set of 6 molds. However, like buns and hot dogs you get more buns than dogs or the other way around and you get more popsicle than molds. I started with the Mango Lassi since I had mangos that need to be eaten in the frig. Mangos, lime and cardomon along with yougurt and sugar, well if they taste as good frozen as they did going into the mold, yummy for my tummy. The molds are in the freezer and I had enough for 2 small bowls full that I can take to work for an afternoon treat. So this summer I am on a popsicle adventure and once a week I shall see what I like and what I don't.
Stay Tuned.

Penny
When my niece was little she had an invisible blue penguin friend named Penny. I saw this pattern at Purls SoHo and thought she needs a blue penguin all her own. We have been to the Omaha zoo where there are lots of little blues and I think she would live there if she could. So here is her Penny. You hardly use any fabric at all, you can make several out of 3 fat quarters and a square of felt. It took me about 3 hours from beginning to end.

Scrappy Socks
My socks are done. I used 7 skeins left over from sock projects and just went down the line of colors. The colors changed on the right sock because of the color variation in the skein. I love them and will make more with my scraps.

Scrappy
Susan B Anderson is hosting a knit a long (Kal) for socks using your leftovers from other socks. I got out my bag and found what I hope will work and not look too bad. Check out her blog in case you want to join. My yarns and sock in progress so far. And since my Dodgers are playing on TV, it will be a great night for knitting socks.

SQUEEEEE!
My neighbors have a big squirrel nest in one of their walnut trees. Since I feed the birds the squirrels feel free to eat at my house as well. I have seen momma jump from the nest to their deck and carry her baby around. I know a lot of people don't like them but isn't it cute?
Camp Loopy 2012
The first month of Camp Loopy starts May 27. You have to pick a designer from a country other than what you call your own. I love Stephen West stuff so I am toying between Colonnade and Boneyard shawls. You also have to use at least 400 yards. I have selected Malabrigo Worsted in the Hummingbird colorway. I have 840 yards so think that will be enough for either one. I also got the same yarn in Uva which is an eggplant color. So I am thinking I will make both and see which one I want to submit. Check out the cute buttons we got too. So I think a project bag is in order just for Camp and I can put my button on it.

Happy Birthday Mom
I know your birthday is not for almost a year but since you will be 80 I wanted to make you something special. I had found a pattern and got the yarn around Christmas on sale but the other day I found the perfect pattern and well if you hear screaming it is me. So here is a picture of the 17 colors of yarn it will entail and that is all I am saying. I better not catch you snooping around my house either for clues.
