Happy Birthday Mom

I know your birthday is not for almost a year but since you will be 80 I wanted to make you something special. I had found a pattern and got the yarn around Christmas on sale but the other day I found the perfect pattern and well if you hear screaming it is me. So here is a picture of the 17 colors of yarn it will entail and that is all I am saying. I better not catch you snooping around my house either for clues.

Loopy Ewe 2nd Quarter 2012 Challenge

The Loopy Ewe 2nd Quarter 2012 challenge was to make an adult garment using cotton. I have never made a sweater from cotton. I used Cotton Supreme in the dusk colorway. I have to say this is oh so very soft and will wear very nicely. The pattern is Women's Eloise Eyelet Cardi from Lion Brand. I had the two heart buttons in my stash that matched perfectly.

Apples?

I have a mock apple tree, it is beautiful in the Spring when it blooms all white and sweet smelling. However, it is not supposed to bear, but guess what I found today, about half a dozen itty bitty apples. I just barely got a picture this evening because the birds have found them and they have become bird food. I thought about tasting one, but you never know what you can and can't eat.

Who Took My Sleeping Bag?

Hello Campers, it is time for Camp Loopy already, get the bug spray and sleeping bags, smores, and whatever else. Beach Sand

I got this yarn last year at the Christmas sale at my fav lys in town. It reminded me on someone so I made this for a gift. Someone will get this shawl this year, hmmmmm wonder who it could be. BTW the gray thing underneath is my body form made with a tee and 3 rolls of duct tape. Fun to make and it takes about 2 hours. Put on a tee you dont' mind losing and cut off the sleeves. Have a good friend duct tape around you 3 times and mark things such as waist, etc. Stuff and put on a hanger.

Mother's Day Socks 2012

This is a free pattern from Knitpicks called Mock Croc Socks. The pattern is very easy to memorize and works up quick. The yarn is Supersocke 100 in the Afrika colorway.

Kindle Halloween

Yes I know you are on a Halloween kick, but what can I say. I was looking for a cover for my Kindle and found this one and had the cotton yarn in Halloween colors so why not. Here it is.

I Heart Lace

I had this yarn for another project but it just did not work out, I just could not figure out the pattern, so I needed a small amount and used all but 10 yards for this. It is a little stiff when washed and blocked but that should not interfere with the wearing of it.

When DId You Last See A

Double Rainbow? I stepped on the deck and saw a rainbow which I hardly ever see anymore when it rains. But when I stepped out front to get the paper there is the double one. Gonna be a great day.

Esther

Meet Esther. She is my nerdbot and thos are knitting needles which belonged to my paternal grandmother who knitted all the time. They are removable in case I need them. Now to find her a place of honor.

Esther is a retired shnchronized and competitive swimmer who loves sports cars and reading murder mysteries. She now spends her free time knitting, baking, sipping strong coffee and caring for her prized cat figurines.

Further progress on the aloe vera, I am not quite sure what will bloom but something might.

Watching The Decorah Eagles

I admit I have become an eagaholic. It is so much fun and very addictive to watch these eaglets growing. YOu can watch them grow daily and see how great parents they have.

I caught Bucky looking at momma feed them their morning snack of Trout. If you haven't looked at them what are waiting for, but be careful they will suck you in.
